“I practice from a Health At Every Size (HAES) perspective. This is an inclusive model that supports body diversity and focuses on improving health without intentional change to weight. Despite the amount of weight bias, weight stigma, and fat phobia in our culture, weight is not a good indicator of health. Practicing through the lens of HAES means supporting respectful, compassionate self care and looking at sustainable health promoting behaviors.”

“Our structure will include: weekly one-on-one sessions with me, unlimited email check-ins throughout the week to share difficulties and successes, worksheets to get you thinking about the issues you’re working on and to keep you on track, and accountability for practicing the principles you’re learning in your daily life.

Each week’s progress will involve learning how to cope with feelings without using food, rejecting the diet mentality, and making peace with food.

You’ll also learn how listen to your body’s hunger and fullness cues, and exercise for pleasure, rather than punishment. Together, we will laser focus on changing your behaviors around food, so that you can feel in control again.”

“Many new clients are eager to know how long it will take to lose the weight they want to lose. This journey is first about healing from within so that you don’t feel like you’re fighting your body anymore.

You’ll get to a place where your relationship to food is peaceful, you enjoy exercising, and you eat what you love and what feels good to your body.

Your weight will be restored to an easy-to-maintain healthy level for you.

Be gentle with yourself.  This is not your fault. Media messages and misinformation about dieting are to blame. Dieting itself causes us to feel out of control around food.”
