Healthy Puppy Living Summit

I'm getting very excited for the Healthy Living Summit!  I seriously can't believe that it's only 2 weeks away! I received an email from Caitlin last week, stating that in conjunction with the Healthy Living Summit, she would be holding a Team in Training bake sale in order to raise money for the Lukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Since I am crazy in love with baking (and un-baking), I responded right away that I would participate.

I decided to make my famous (around these parts anyway) nutty granola squares, and raw coconut almond macaroons. Two of my favorite things in the whole world.

Then I had a brilliant idea. At least 50% of the attendees will most probably have dogs. I just can't forget about the dogs, ya know?  (***cue Sarah McLachlan ASPCA commercial***)

So, this is a little insight into what I'm working on (iPhone camera resolution style). These will be strictly swag.  I'm just out to share the woofie love!

I will put my homemade dog biscuits in a cellophane bag attached to this cute little tag, of course.

Have you ever made homemade dog treats?

I like to make my own when possible.  Since my puppies are my only "kids", I'm always concerned about what I'm putting in their little bodies.  I feed my dogs all natural dog food with no animal by-products, and I can actually pronounce all of the ingredients.  I think it's only fair that I feed them as well as I would feed myself.

There are some good wholesome dog treats out there, but they are very expensive.  I'm cheap.  I'd rather make my own.  That way, they're cheap, and I know that they're healthy and fresh.

So, this project is fun and cute and all...but do you think that anyone is going to notice that I forgot to add "ginger" to the ingredients list of the "almond GINGER woofies".  Uh.  Yeah.  Minor detail.
