Operation: Hydrate and Fuel

Is in full effect! Tomorrow, I will not have a migraine after my 9 mile run.

Because I have a plan.

I made a trip to WalMart tonight. I generally can't stand the place, but hey...I'm on a budget.

I bought a Bell Hydration Pack, and also purchased a 64 Oz replacement bladder to use instead of the 48 OZ bladder that came with the pack.

Right now, it looks like this...


I'm glad that I took this picture, because I just looked at it and realized that my car key is attached to the front.  I'm not so sure how well an electronic key will fare in the freezer for 8 hours.

And, stashed in the front pocket...


No, they're not droppings of some sort.


They don't really look very appetizing though, do they?

I know they're ugly, but in an effort to find some natural running fuel, this is what I came up with.  Well.  That, and the fact that My Gazelle thinks that Sport Beans and ShotBloks make the perfect afternoon snack.

Portable, balanced, and durable.  Medjool dates stuffed with peanut butter and unsweetened coconut.  I stuck them in the freezer with my hydro pack so that they won't become all gooey and peanut-buttery too soon into my run tomorrow.  It should be only between 70-80 degrees tomorrow during my run, so I think they'll be fine.

Wish me luck that my planning is going to help tomorrow.  I'm trying to find my magic formula.
